About
In completing my undergraduate Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Santa Barbara, I sought to foster my love for the outdoors, beach, mountains, and open spaces. I have a passion for visual information and pay attention to detail in maps, reports, statements and the news. With this background I had a desire to act a civil servant, mainly due to my father's service and an Army Vietnam Combat Veteran, and choose to attend law school with an intention of entering of the criminal justice system. My first position with the Riverside DA office for nearly 10 years was an opportunity to become a trail attorney, experience the culture of a prosecutorial office, and receive specialized training as a vertical prosecutor assigned to the NHTSA DUID taskforce grant for over a year where I received training in coordination with law enforcement officers to include, ride-alongs, ARIDE, and DUID seminar workshops. In participating in the prosecution of criminal cases, my personal interests and commitments required that I seek justice in an alternate manner as the fairness and impartiality of the system appeared, to me, out of balance in specific regards. Now, since I have been defending clients for nearly as long in time, I am most comfortable in the concept of providing legal counsel and defense to persons who have been unfairly targeted, not believed or heard, and simply put, accused of wrongdoings that are not consistent with their character, history or contributions to social frame work of our society. It is my honor and desire to give my clients a voice and representation that the criminal justice system would rather choose to ignore.
